Harbin Properties LLC has sold several of the Harbin properties in Rome to Duke Realty of Indianapolis.

Harbin Clinic President Dr. Ken Davis said Harbin Properties, the real estate company owned by many of the physicians associated with the clinic, had been looking for someone to sell off some of the real estate holdings to for about a year.

The Harbin Clinic LLC, in turn, has signed long-term leases with Duke Realty for the properties.

“Nothing, nothing, nothing will happen,” Davis said. “Patients will absolutely not see any changes, they won’t notice anything different from what they’ve always seen.”

The buildings involved in the multi-million dollar deal include the main Harbin Clinic building at 1825 Martha Berry Blvd., the Specialty Center and Cardiovascular Institute, both located on Redmond Road across from the Redmond Regional Medical Center, three dialysis centers, and a medical office building in Cedartown.

Not included in the sale was the large clinic in Cartersville, the 330 Physicians Building on the Floyd Medical Center campus, or the Harbin Clinic Tony E. Warren M.D. Cancer Center in Rome.

The Harbin Properties LLC was created almost a decade ago, according to Davis.

“We have grown tremendously over the last eight or nine years, creating a lot more real estate,” Davis said. “What the doctors wanted to do was to reduce the amount of real estate. They wanted to reduce the debt the doctors had in their buildings.”

Davis said Harbin Properties LLC wanted to wait until they found just the right buyer and Duke Realty was that entity. Duke Realty specialized in medical professional properties and agreed to lease the buildings back to the Harbin Clinic LLC for essentially the same terms that have been in place for the last decade.
