Orthotics and prosthetics specialists, CH Martin was established in 1912 and has been family-owned and operated business for four generations. The company fits orthopedic braces (neck, back, leg etc) and prosthetic limbs.
CEO Neal Counts said that the company closed the Rome office in 2007 because of a near crisis at company offices in central Georgia. Scott Kansol, who ran the Rome office from 1995-2007, was moved to central Georgia. “We have an office in Dublin, Warner Robins and Macon and we had a crisis on our hands,” Counts said. “Rome had become a little stagnant so we had Scott go down there until we were able to get a practitioner down there that we felt comfortable with”
Counts said the company also wanted to come back to Rome and Kansol is ecstatic about returning to Rome.
Kansol said that since his return to Rome two weeks ago that he has been visiting with the local medical community, reacquainting himself with doctors and meeting new physicians.
“The best thrill you get is working with a new amputee, helping them to take their first steps, that’s the ultimate,” Kansol said.
The Rome office will be open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Kansol is on call throughout the week-end.
The company also offers a full line of compression garments, mastectomy garments, diabetic shoes and inserts as well as durable medical equipment.
