According to Trooper Donnie Cochran with the Georgia State Patrol:
The driver of the bus, Shiela Noles, was traveling south on Martha Berry Highway when she was distracted by children on the bus while she was attempting to turn onto Cordle Drive.
The bus went into the oncoming lane of Cordle Drive and struck the front driver side of the 1998 Honda Accord driven by Nikki Edgeworth of Summerville, who was waiting to turn out onto Martha Berry Highway.
Minimal damage was done to either vehicle and both were able to be driven after the incident.
Noles was cited with failure to maintain lane, and the students, which came from Armuchee area schools, were transferred to another bus.
