Rome police say that a driver and passenger involved in a late night crash Tuesday were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Kenneth Bryant, of Rome, and a passenger were in a Toyota Tacoma truck that left Shorter Avenue near MidTown Crossing shopping center and wound up running into the front of Teriyaki Passion, 136 Shorter Ave.

Police determined that Bryant was not drunk at the time of the incident and had blacked out while traveling west because of a medical condition.

Chen Yee, owner of Teriyaki Passion, was forced to remain closed on Wednesday as he waited for an insurance adjuster to come out and inspect the damage before cleaning up the debris.

He said a contractor had checked the building for any structural weakness and was hopeful that he would be able to reopen for business today.
