Mr. and Mrs. Charles Orr Jr. of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter, Victoria Sloan Orr, to Dr. John Henry Goodrich of Rome, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kim Goodrich of Bedford, Va.

Miss Orr is a 2001 home school graduate and a 2005 graduate of Louisiana Tech University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She is employed at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.

The bride-elect is the sister of Marie Whitlock, Margaret Orr, and Stewart Orr, all of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Richard Pierce of Smyrna and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Orr, Sr. and Richard Pierce.

Goodrich is a 2002 graduate of Brookwood High School and a 2006 graduate of Emory University in Atlanta where he earned a dual degree in Biology and Music. In 2010, he graduated from Emory University with a master’s in Business Administration and a doctorate in Physical Therapy.  He is employed at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.

The groom-elect is the brother of Dr. Daniel Goodrich of Greensboro, N.C., and Kaitlyn Russell of Monroe. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Goodrich of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Henry Long of Syosset, N.Y., the late Arlene Goodrich and the late Henry Long.

The wedding ceremony is planned for Nov. 10, 2012 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Buford. Invitations have been sent.
