If you don’t want to stand in line on Nov. 6, Floyd County elections officials are going to make it even easier for you to vote early.

On Friday, 926 voters cast early ballots at the County Administration Building, 12 E. Fourth Ave., bringing the total since Oct. 15 to 6,260. That represents almost 14 percent of the county’s 46,000 registered voters. Today, early voting will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Voting will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week through Nov. 2. A second universal polling precinct will open Monday through Nov. 2 in the Rome Civic Center on Jackson Hill.

While the presidential race is drawing the most national attention, Floyd County voters will also decide several local races, including two County Commission contests.
