I HAVE a very good friend who dyes her hair pink every October because she had a sister who died from breast cancer. Because of this people give her looks of disgust or look down their noses at her. They should be ashamed. I was always taught that what a person had on the inside was more important than the outward appearance.

This woman has a heart of gold. She loves her husband and children. She is always encouraging others when they are down and she has a sense of humor you would not believe. She is an animal lover and works hard to find pets good homes. I am a better person for knowing her.

I know all kinds of people who have tattoos and different hair colors who are some of the best people in the world. Usually there is a meaning for each one of the tattoos they have. My husband has tattoos that he designed himself and you couldn’t ask for a better, kinder, bighearted person.

In this day and age there are more important issues we should be concerned about. People are without jobs, children are going to bed hungry, parents losing their homes, students who have gone to college cannot find a teaching job, senior citizens who are having their medicare cut and a government who seems like we are the last thing on their mind.

I have also been told you can’t judge a book by its cover. I am so thankful for that. Imagine all the books I would have missed out on.
