Rome man facing family violence, felony assault charges

Police said a Rome man threw a remote control at a female relative and choked her early Wednesday morning, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Mahendra Lakhram, 35, of 1 West Haven Drive, did so in front of a child.

He was charged with misdemeanor simple battery (FVA), felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor third-degree cruelty to children.

Lakhram was released on bond Wednesday.
