The Shorter women's soccer team wrapped up the season with a 2-1 victory at Georgia Gwinnett.

Mackenzie Bailey was able to score 76 seconds into the game to give the Grizzlies a quick lead.

Shorter (5-12-1) was able to respond with two goals at the end of the first half. Helena Farinha scored in the 32nd minute, while Brandi Greenwald scored in the 37th minute. Both goals went unassisted.

The second half passed without either team being able to add to the scoring.

The Lady Hawks took the advantage on shots, 18-9. The offense attacked the Grizzlies keeper, Mo Gutierrez, forcing her to make six saves.

Katie Stachula made the start for the final time this season in goal, adding five saves to her season total. She was able to record 87 saves on the season, which is second best in school history for a single season behind the 2011 campaign Taylor Hays had when she recorded 105 saves.

The goals were the fourth for Farinha and eleventh for Greenwald for 2012. Greenwald ends her career at Shorter with 26 goals, which is second in school history.

Aline Bez Tamiosso was able to attempt eight shots, with four on goal to help dial up the pressure applied by the Lady Hawks. She topped the team in each category with 65 shots, placing 29 on goal for the season; she was able to score twice while assisting on four others.
