Report: Man hit pregnant woman in front of young children

Floyd County police arrested a Rome man late Sunday night after he allegedly hit a pregnant woman with his fist in front of five young children, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Michael Wayne Terry, 31, of 304-A E. 18th St., is charged with five counts of felony cruelty to children in the second degree, battery (FVA) and probation violation.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for her injuries.

The children were younger than six years of age.
