In what might become a new college basketball rivalry in the local area, Georgia Northwestern Tech traveled to Georgia Highlands College on Tuesday night.

The Lady Chargers posted a 90-55 win to improve to 3-0 in their inaugural season.

Georgia Highlands owned a 41-34 lead at the half, and outscored the Lady Bobcats 49-21 in the second half to seal the convincing victory.

GHC’s Shanique Holston led all scores with 30 points.

Shakierya McClendon finished with 26, and Seandre Lee had 17 for the Lady Chargers.

Former Pepperell standout Kiarra Parks led GNTC with a team-high 14 points.

The Lady Chargers’ next action will be on Saturday as they host Central Georgia Tech, which will be the first conference game in GHC history.

The Lady Bobats host their home opener tonight versus Snead State (AL) at 6 p.m. at the Winthrop-King Center on the campus of Shorter.

Prior to Tuesday, the Lady Chargers had posted a road victory at East Mississippi Community College last week, followed by a win over Wallace State on Sunday afternoon in the team’s first-ever home game.
