Rome woman charged with fraud

A Rome woman was charged on Thursday morning after she allegedly stole someone’s credit card and bought merchandise valued at $625.27, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Delecia Eshon Polard Kennedy, 24, of 1306 Spring Creek St., works in an assisted living community as a caretaker and stole a 95-year-old man’s credit card in April.

Between April 1 and April 22, Kennedy used the credit card to make purchases at T.J. Maxx on Turner McCall Boulevard as well as Hibbett Sports and Aeropostale located at Mount Berry Square.

Kennedy was charged with theft by taking, three counts financial transaction card fraud and exploitation of the elderly, all felonies.

She was released from jail on Thursday on a $7,900 bond.
