Safes stolen from West Rome residence

Rome police are investigating the theft of two safes from a local residence.

According to Rome police reports:

The victim, who resides on Glenda Drive in West Rome, told investigators the theft occurred sometime between noon and 5 p.m. Saturday.

Both safes had been kept in a closet. One contained large amount of cash; the other contained jewelry, a checkbook and CD.

The victim reported that there were no signs of forced entry.
