Rome detective Michelle Sims said Monday that their investigation into an armed robbery that occurred last month has been productive.

Sims said they have promising leads that could lead to warrants for the arrest of three suspects who were involved in the incident at Blue Box Beverage, 33 E. Main St., in South Rome.

On Oct. 23, a man entered the store with a gun and took money from the register before being hit by an employee with a golf club and firing three times while trying to leave.

No one was shot and the suspect got away.

Sims says they will probably know more in the next couple of weeks and they believe three suspects are involved — the one who came into the store, one that was a lookout, and another that was nearby.

Sims said that one of them returned to the store and picked up the money and the gun that was hidden by the gunman.

If anyone has information about the incident, call 706-238-5124.
