A Cedartown man was life-flighted to Grady Hospital after his home caught fire Thursday evening. His wife also sustained injuries during the incident and was transported to Floyd Medical Center.
According to Cedartown City Fire Department Chief Sammy Stephens, a report of a house fire at 444 Sixth St. with possible entrapment was called in to Polk County 911 at about 6 p.m.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and found the woman outside, stating that her husband was still inside. Firefighters were able to rescue the man from the burning house.
Stephens said that he, along with firefighters and officials from the State Fire Marshal's Office, are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
The names of the victims have not been released.
