Police say an attempt to change lanes caused a Rome woman’s vehicle to flip several times on Highway 53 Monday afternoon.

According to Floyd County police officer Matt Meyers:

The unidentified woman was traveling north on New Calhoun Highway near the intersection of Highway 140 in a grey Chevy Trailblazer when she tried to change lanes.

She then noticed she was getting too close to a car in the other lane and overcorrected, entering the median. Her vehicle fishtailed before flipping a number of times and landing upright.

She was wearing her seatbelt and was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. She was not cited.
