Mrs. Christopher Aaron Miller
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Richard Sargent II of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Ann Chambers Belcher of Rome.
The groom is the son of Lieutenant Colonel (retired) and Mrs. Edward David Miller Jr. of Niceville, Fla. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edward David Miller Sr. of Bristol, Tenn.
Reverend Frank Murphy of Rome performed the double ring ceremony. Organist Neil Sanders of Rome, trumpeter Adam Hayes of Rome and Seven Hills Strings, led by cellist Annie Camp of Sugar Valley, provided the program music. Selections included “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” “Trumpet Voluntary,” “Bridal Chorus,” and “Wedding March.”
Wreaths of antique green hydrangea, peach Juliette roses, lilies, tea roses, and seasonal berries were hung on the doors of the sanctuary. A beautiful arrangement of antique green hydrangea, peach garden roses and seasonal berries graced the narthex. Family seating was designated with bouquets of antique green hydrangea, peach roses and seeded eucalyptus. The baptistery was banked with cascading foliage of seasonal berries, antique green hydrangea, peach garden roses and hanging amaranthus.
Antique candelabras with pillar candles adorned with foliage framed the wedding party. Mass alter arrangements of ivory and peach garden roses, antique green hydrangea, seeded eucalyptus, and bells of Ireland were placed in limestone urns on the altar to complete the setting.
Jordan Michaely Bray of Atlanta was the maid of honor and Jenny Wilde Sargent, sister-in-law of the bride, of Manchaca, Texas, was the matron of honor. Virginia Smith Parrino of Smyrna, Kristen Evonne Holladay of Acworth, Emily Marie Miller, sister of the groom, of Niceville, Fla., Katherine Anne Miller, sister of the groom, of St. Louis, Mo., and Frances Grace Welborn of Rome were the bridesmaids. The ladies wore strapless floor length gowns of soft pewter chiffon, featuring tiny mushroom pleats on the bodice. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of peach Juliette roses, rose hips, ivory hypericum berries and eucalyptus berries with accents of lamb’s ear tied with a soft pewter ribbon.
Molly Louise Welborn of Rome and Sydney Jean Miller, niece of the groom, of Panama City Beach, Fla., were the flower girls. The girls wore silk organza tea-length ball gowns in ivory. The dresses were accented with silver organza sashes at the waist. They carried pomanders of ivory tea roses with a soft pewter ribbon and wore headpieces of needlepoint ivy and ivory hypericum berries.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore an ivory organza tufted ball gown that featured a jeweled bodice with a sweet heart neckline. The natural waist was accented by a platinum silk satin ribbon sash, tied into a soft bow. The A-line skirt was made of tufted organza and finished into a chapel-length train. The bride’s veil of silver embroidered English net completed the look by matching the exquisite beaded detail along the trim of the veil to the details from the bodice of the gown. She carried a hand tied bouquet of David Austin ivory garden roses with accents of eucalyptus berries. Tied into the bouquet’s pewter ribbon was an Italian lace handkerchief belonging to her aunt, her late great grandmother’s wedding ring and a gold elephant pendant given to her by her grandmother.
Edward David Miller, III, brother of the groom, of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Kaleb Russell Bell of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., were the best men. Isaiah Nathanael Mosley of Miami Beach, Fla., Joseph William Kramer of Niceville, Fla., Robert Bradley Holman of Ozark, Ala., and William Jacob Sargent, brother of the bride, of Manchaca, Texas, were the groomsmen. The men wore black morning jackets, gray pinstripe pants, gray vests and pewter ties all to match the groom’s attire. They wore boutonnieres of hypericum berries and quail feathers provided by the bride’s father. The groom’s boutonniere included an ivory garden rose.
Alexander Thomas Nichols, Andrew Robert Nichols, Wesley Chambers Nichols and William Nathaniel Nichols, cousins of the bride, all from Atlanta, served as ushers for the ceremony. Anwer William Joseph and Robert Fletcher Joseph, both of Roswell, were the ring bearers.
The mother of the bride wore a formal floor length column gown of turquoise crepe handmade by her grandmother, Ruth Cox Chambers. This gown was previously worn by Mrs. Chambers at the mother of the bride’s wedding in 1977. The sleeveless gown featured a V-neckline accented by a gold square jewel brooch. The mother of the groom wore a formal gown of aubergine satin which featured a pleated cross over bodice. The sheer sleeves were embellished with aubergine crystals. The mothers were presented with bouquets of ivory garden roses accented with seeded eucalyptus. The grandmother of the bride was presented with a corsage of ivory tea roses.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride’s home, Ivy Ridge. Refreshments included the bride’s five-tier confection of fresh strawberry cake filled with a strawberry cream cheese buttercream and was iced in vanilla cream cheese buttercream. Three tiers featured soft pewter ribbon banding on the cake, which matched the sash of the bride’s gown. The remaining two layers featured hand rolled silver fondant pearls in a scalloped pattern along the base of the remaining two tiers. The entire creation was topped with fresh David Austin ivory garden roses.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Coosa Country Club. The groom’s cake was made by a friend of the groom and was a replica of a cooler of the groom’s favorite beer, complete with actual beverages in the cake.

After their honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple resides in Atlanta.
