The members of the seventh-grade Rome Wolves took away some amazing memories from this season, which ended with the team earning a spot in the state championship. The Wolves traveled to Lassister High last Saturday for the state-title game, where Rome fell to Sequoyah, 32-16. Head coach Charles Smith said his team was a dedicated group, which led to their success. “This started in February in the weight room,” he said. “The kids came out and worked all winter and we worked out (more) in the summer. ... Our goal was to get to (the title) game and give ourselves a chance to win a state championship.”
