The Naked Eskimos will play the Brewhouse on Friday.

Hailing from the frozen tundra of the Alaskan frontier, they gained popularity when they burst on the Alaskan music scene wearing nothing but their smiles, selling out show after show from the Bering Strait to Anchorage to Juno. Their performances cover a wide variety of Rock tunes from the 80s, 90s and today. The band features Imran on vocals, Rex on vocals, Ted on lead guitar and Kari on drums.

The Brewhouse is located at 325 Broad Street. The performance begins at 10:30 p.m.

Obviously "the Naked Eskimos" are no longer performing the way they originally performed because the RAC would not have nudity and drink in the same place at once.......

Why are you so jealous of Jay?

Observation is not jealousy, friend. Do you disagree that other venues receive the same coverage by Rome's largest news source?

The issue is not coverage of Jay's events. The issue is the lack of coverage of other events/venues. I know intimately the direct costs of marketing across many industries, and let's just say IT AIN'T CHEAP. Help Jay by publishing his events here by all means, but I'm sure Anthony Barbara, Steven @ the Cigar Bar, or Ginny @ the Moon Roof would appreciate the same valuable marketing.

Who is playing at DJ's Tavern? Who is playing at the Moon Roof? Who is playing at the 400 block bar? Why is every flatulence of Jay Shell newsworthy, when all other venues in Rome are struggling to make ends meet just as Jay may be?

Is there a "pay per event" plan that is only published to Jay? Jeez.

Why am I the only person who sees this and questions it?

There is no by-line on this article. Could it have been submitted by the business?

Watchingit:

Good point, but wouldn't that fall under "press release?" Typically there is a notation/byline if so.

If it really is that simple, I'm opening a marketing firm tomorrow.

Wheninrome Digital Marketing, LLC

For a mere $100/mo, I'll email RN-T to let them know about your upcoming events and they will post an inline story for you complete with background details and history. Gone are the days of $300 single-run, black and white print ads that are thrown away with the day's paper.

wheninrome, sounds like a plan. I based my assumption (and that is what it is) on the fact that PR departments at the private schools in the area often submit stories of student achievement and school activities to the paper. So, what they do can be done by other private entities.
