Police said a man threw a metal piece of a wheelchair during an incident on South Sycamore Street late Tuesday night, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Johnny Wesley Highfield, of 427 S. Sycamore St., was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and felony criminal damage to property.

The incident happened at a Pine Hill Drive address. Highfield remained in jail Wednesday night without bond.
