Owner D. Lee Hampton has decided to retire and spend some more time on the golf course. His wife Sue Ellen Hampton said the couple made the decision retire about five or six weeks ago. “I’m going to find something to do there’s got to be life after work I hope, I’ll find out soon, Sue Hampton said.”
The Hamptons do actually own the buildings at 206 and 208 Broad Street, the two properties valued at $310,240 by the local tax assessor’s office earlier this year. The Hamptons did not appeal the value of the buildings, Sue Hampton said that she and her husband felt like the figures, went up 40 percent from a year ago were fair.
“We haven’t gotten that far into it yet but I’m sure that at some point we’ll sell the building,” she said.
