A Rome man told police that while walking along Perkins Street a man and woman stopped him, and then when he ignored them they stole his cell phone, reports stated.

According to Rome police reports:

The man, speaking through an interpreter, told police that a white female and black male stopped him on Perkins Street at about 3 a.m. Saturday and asked him if he wanted to buy drugs. When he passed them by, one of the suspects came up from behind and snatched his phone and tried to steal his gold necklace. He ran from both suspects after they took his phone.

The necklace broke, but the owner was able to keep it around his neck.

Reports stated the phone was valued at $100.

Police were unable to find any suspects in the area at the time after searching.
