At least five people were involved in a fight that sent one of the apparent aggressors to Floyd Medical Center for treatment of stab wounds Sunday afternoon.

According to Floyd County police:

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at an apartment on Woodruff Street in Silver Creek.

According to Corporal M.C. Parris, there were five main combatants at the site. Two men, ages 21 and 26, were at their apartment when three older adult men approached and a physical altercation ensued.

“One of the boys has a large gash to his head,” Parris said. “One of the other three men was stabbed in the abdomen and wrist. He was taken to Floyd Medical Center where he was treated and released.”

Parris was not able to release any names since the investigation is still underway. The investigator said that a number of felony charges are expected to result from the investigation.

She also said that several small children witnessed the fight, including two who were inside the apartment.
