Twenty-four Basic Law Enforcement recruits recently graduated from Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) Wednesday, November 28, 2012.

Present at the event to speak to the graduates was Calhoun Police Department Chief Garry K. Moss, Sr.

“They are entering into an honorable profession,” Moss told graduates Wednesday. “They always need to treat citizens like they would want to be treated if the roles were reversed, citizen support is very important in this profession.”

Several graduates in attendance had accepted positions already in other cities.

The Basic Law Enforcement Graduates were: Jacob M. Abbott, Benjamin D. Baker, Christopher H. Barnes, Michael L. Battles, Charles J. Bray, Jr., Erik M. Bush, Harley D. Elliott, Casey D. Ellis, Rickey L. Harris, II, Savannah K. Henslee, Jeffery A. Keen, Jr., Cody L. Lanier, Keith E. Lockwood, Ian D. Lowe, William T. Mabrey, Andrew R. C. Martin, Kenneth R. Martin, II, Joshua S. McCurdy, Katheryn E. Payne, Coy J. Ricker, Garrett D. Saylors, Cody A. Shepherd, Billy W. Stone, and Jose A. Ulibarri.

Though no positions are currently available for graduates at the Calhoun City Police Department, Moss says many of his officers have graduated from that program.

“I think it’s a very credible program,” said Moss. “All officers I have hired from there are outstanding, knowledgeable and ready to work.”
