2 charged with drug, counterfeit substance possession

An Aragon man and a Rome woman remained in jail Thursday morning drug and possession of counterfeit substance charges, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Steven Clark Burnette, 29, of 695 Morris Road, and Jessica Coots, 28, of 20 Tumlin Drive, Apt. 4, were each charged with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of counterfeit substance.

The arrest occurred at 838 Turner McCall Boulevard and police said they found a black, tar-like substance packaged in the center console of the vehicle.

Coots was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine.
