Woman charged with additional exploitation of elderly, theft charges

A Rome woman was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Thursday morning after she allegedly stole jewelry from two elderly victims at Renaissance Marquis Assisted Living Center in April, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Delecia Eshon Polard Kennedy, 24, of 1306 Spring Creek Street, was charged with two felony counts of exploitation of the elderly, two counts of theft by taking, two counts of theft by receiving stolen property and two counts of theft by deception.

Kennedy, a caregiver at the living center, stole a gold bracelet and a gold diamond ring from one victim and two diamond rings from the other, both of whom were under her care.

She was arrested on similar charges in October and November as well as on fraud charges.
