The reigning NL Cy Young winner will appear in a Blue Jays uniform in 2013 as they make a run at AL East supremacy -- assuming the sides can work out a deal. The report says Dickey has until Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET to agree to the extension.
According to FoxSports.com, there is a tentative agreement in place to send the knuckleballer to Toronto, where he would join fellow newcomers Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle in a bulked-up rotation.
Dickey currently is under contract for 2013 at $5 million.
Before the trade, he sought an additional $26 million to $28 million over two years from the Mets.
An official involved in the trade discussions said 23-year-old Blue Jays catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud would be the centerpiece coming to New York in any deal.
Multiple reports indicate the Mets also will acquire catcher John Buck, Class A right-hander Noah Syndergaard and cash while sending catcher Josh Thole to Toronto.
