The Rome Area History Museum is proud to announce that the Spade & Trowel garden club’s Joy to the World tree has won the Rome Federated Garden Clubs Festival of Trees for 2012. As the festival winner, Spade & Trowel will be awarded with a free rental of the beautiful upstairs event space at the museum, a $750.00 value.

According to RAHM Executive Director, Leigh Barba, “The museum has been so pleased this year with ALL of the beautiful and creative Christmas trees that were installed for our Festival of Trees here at the museum! The front window alone has drawn even more visitors than usual into the museum to view both local history and a lovely tribute to the Christmas season! The vote this year was a “popular vote” and the museum going public was invited to vote for their favorite by ballot. One vote per visitor per visit decided the winning tree. The museum staff looks forward to helping the Spade & Trowel club put on a fun and festive event here in honor of their win.

Participating clubs this year include:

Townview Garden Club

Mountain View Garden Club

Camellia Garden Club

Thistle Garden Club

Chattooga Garden Club

Three Rivers Garden Club

Four Seasons Garden Club

Spade & Trowel Garden Club

Rome African Violet Study Group

The Rome Federated Garden Club "Festival of Trees" will be on exhibit at the Rome Area History Museum until January 5th.
