Coosa's Chad Perry has resigned as the head football coach. Perry meet with his team around noon today to announce his decision.

Perry, who led the Eagles to the state playoffs this past season, will remain in his position as the school's athletic director.

"There comes a time where decisions are tough and in this profession, it usually comes down to priorities that surround the love for coaching and family," Perry said in an email to the RN-T. "These things are both priorities in my life, and there is never a 'good time' to make decisions like this. However, after long consideration, it is time for me to put some things, including family ahead of head coaching."
