The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert O. Rogers of Rome and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Gary Brown of Covington. She is the granddaughter of Nancy Brown of Covington, the late Cecil Brown and the late Frank and Zula Moore of Milledgeville.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Petit of Pont-à-Vendin, France. He is the grandson of the late Thomas and Anna Rutkowski and the late Edmond and Andrea Petit.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her mother, wore an ivory, silk empire waist gown with a heart shaped neckline and ruched tulle straps. Her veil was cathedral length with lace edging. She carried a round bouquet of orange roses.
Reverend Jane Brooks preformed the ceremony under a tulle wrapped arbor. The bridesmaids were Carolyn Neal Brown, sister of the bride, of Atlanta and Lea Jackel of Bonn, Germany.
The bridesmaids wore knee length blue and white dresses and carried an orange rose. The groomsmen were Yann Lemoine of Paris, France and Fabien Quignon of Arras, France. The bride’s nephews Eli Rogers, Braxton McMurphy, and Brendan Rogers carried wooden signs painted “here” “comes” “the bride.” Andrew Rogers scattered fall-colored leaves down the aisle. The bride’s train was carried by her cousin, Caroline Legere.
The round, three-tier vanilla wedding cake layered with raspberry filling and covered with buttercream icing was topped with red sunflowers, a gift from Mrs. Kenneth Earle, who grew the flowers especially for the occasion.
On the day before the wedding, a brunch was hosted by Mrs. Michael Baker, Kathy Cook, Mrs. Kenneth Earle and Mrs. Will Wood.
The couple married in a civil ceremony in Pont-à-Vendin, France on September 29, 2012 and currently reside in Paris, France.
