KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Will Spradling had 16 points and five assists, including one that set up Shane Southwell’s 3-pointer in the closing minutes, and Kansas State beat No. 8 Florida 67-61 on Saturday night.

Rodney McGruder added 13 points and Jordan Henriquez had nine points and five blocks for the Wildcats (9-2), who watched a 10-point halftime lead evaporate before clamping down against one of the nation’s top defensive teams and then pulling away in the final minutes.

No. 12 MISSOURI 82, No. 10 ILLIONIS 73

ST. LOUIS — Laurence Bowers had 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead Missouri over Illinois in the annual Braggin’ Rights game.

Alex Oriakhi added 13 points and 14 rebounds as Missouri (10-1) won its fourth straight in the 32-year-old series. Jabari Brown had 18 points and Phil Pressey handed out 11 assists.

Brandon Paul led Illinois (12-1) with 23 points. Tyler Griffey scored 14 and Joseph Bertrand had 13.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — P.J. Hairston scored a career-high 20 points in North Carolina’s victory over McNeese State.

Reggie Bullock added 17 points for the Tar Heels (9-3), who shot 13 of 28 on 3-pointers and never trailed. James Michael McAdoo had 12 points, Leslie McDonald added 11 and Brice Johnson scored 10.

RALEIGH, N.C. — C.J. Leslie scored a career-high 33 points to lead North Carolina State past St. Bonaventure.

Scott Wood added a season-best 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting and Lorenzo Brown had a season-high 11 assists for the Wolfpack (9-2).

KENTUCKY 82, MARSHALL 54

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Ryan Harrow scored a career-high 23 points and Kentucky used a 21-5 second-half run to pull away for a victory over Marshall.

Archie Goodwin added 18 points and Nerlens Noel 11 as the Wildcats (8-3) won their fourth straight before a season-high 24,271 at Rupp Arena. Kentucky also improved to 12-0 against Marshall.

MARQUETTE 84, LSU 80

MILWAUKEE — Davante Gardner came off the bench to score a season-high 19 points, and Junior Cadougan and Vander Blue each added 17 to lead Marquette to a victory over LSU.

Gardner made all nine free-throw attempts, including six in the final 36 seconds. Jamil Wilson added 11 points for Marquette (8-3), which overcame a 49-47 loss at Green Bay on Wednesday by winning its 15th straight home game.

ARKANSAS 95, ALABAMA A&M 68

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Marshawn Powell scored 20 points and Arkansas made its first seven field-goal attempts in a victory over Alabama A&M.

BJ Young added 13 points and Coty Clarke 10 for the Razorbacks (7-4), who had 12 players score and snapped a three-game losing streak at Verizon Arena, its home away from Fayetteville.

MERCER 66, ALABAMA 59

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Jakob Gollen made two free throws with 1:19 left and Mercer overcame a double-digit, first-half deficit to upset Alabama.

Daniel Coursey scored 20 points and Travis Smith had 17 for the Bears (7-6), who entered the game without a player averaging double-figures in scoring. Gollen and Langston Hall also had 10 points apiece.

INDIANA ST. 87, MISSISSIPPI 85, OT

HONOLULU — Manny Arop scored a game-high 27 points to lead Indiana State to an overtime win over Mississippi in a quarterfinal game of the Diamond Head Classic.

The Sycamores (6-3) also got 16 points from Jake Odum, 12 apiece from Justin Gant and R.J. Mahurin and 10 from Dawon Cummings to advance to Friday’s semifinal round, where they will play the winner of San Francisco and No. 18 San Diego State.

SOUTH CAROLINA 63, MANHATTAN 57

NEW YORK — Brenton Williams’ 17 points powered South Carolina to a win over Manhattan in the second game of the Brooklyn Hoops Tournament at the Barclays Center.

Michael Carrera and Brian Richardson chipped in 13 and 12, respectively, for the Gamecocks.

WAKE FOREST 84,

UNC-GREENSBORO 70

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Travis McKie scored 19 points and Wake Forest overcame a slow start to beat UNC Greensboro.

Chase Fischer had 13 points, Devin Thomas 12 and C.J. Harris 11 for the Demon Deacons (6-5), who shot 52.9 percent (27 of 51) from the field in winning their second straight game by double figures.
