Mr. and Mrs. Dan Day of Marietta announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Catherine Day, to Patrick Lee Pierson. The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curt Pierson of Rome.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Walton High School in Marietta, and a 2010 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Development. Miss Day is currently attending Richmont Graduate University, pursuing a master’s degree in Professional Counseling.

She is the sister of Lindsay Day of Athens and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Lee Mathis of Clarkesville, Virginia Day and the late Tom Day of Marietta.

The groom-elect is a 2009 graduate of Darlington School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs. He is currently the Director of Athens PBJs, a non-profit based in Athens.

He is the brother of Bradley Pierson of Sewanee, Tenn. He is the grandson of Mary Ann Corley, Bill Pierson, the late Lamar Corley and the late LuAnn Pierson.  

The wedding and reception will be held at the Taylor-Grady House in Athens on May 4, 2013.
