A Rome woman faced a felony charge of theft by taking a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor charges of driving an unsafe vehicle, not wearing her seat belt, and having partially obscured tail lights early Saturday morning, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the report:

Crissie Ann Wells, 35, of 6 Black’s Bluff Road, was stopped by an officer at the entrance to Berry College on Martha Berry Highway because her tail light covers were obscuring her brake lights.

The officer noticed one of her mirrors was broken and the tires were slick, exposing metal. He also discovered the vehicle she was driving had been reported stolen Thursday.

She remained in jail Saturday night.
