JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Clayton County commissioners have decided to terminate the county manager and called for a forensic audit of certain departments.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the commission took the actions Wednesday, during its first meeting of the year. The meeting drew a packed house of more than 200 residents in the county just south of Atlanta.

Official said county manager Wade Starr's job ends immediately. He will receive the rest of his employment contract, which is about $90,000.

In other action, the commission postponed a decision on the creation of two new posts, chief financial officer and chief operating officer, until its next meeting.
