Families in Greater Rome will have the opportunity this weekend to watch some of the country’s top bullriders during the Three Rivers International Rodeo at The Forum.

The event will feature 30 top bullriders from the Southeast and as far away as Illinois competing with award-winning bulls from 4L and Diamond S rodeo companies.

Charlie Lowery, who runs the rodeo companies out of Summerville, said spectators have a lot in store for them when they enter The Forum today and Saturday.

“They can expect two hours of good family entertainment,” said Lowery.

Lowery has had the No. 1 bucking bull at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas for the past two years.

That bull won’t be making an appearance at the this weekend’s rodeo, but Lowery said two bulls which competed in the finals in Las Vegas will be in action Friday and Saturday.

Lowery said he enjoys putting on the event, and it’s always been a success.

“We’ve been doing it for eight years,” said Lowery. “We’ve had some really good bull riding. People from Louisiana, Illinois, North Carolina — they like what we do, they like our bulls, and I know we have a lot of spectators come back year after year because it’s good entertainment.

“We’ll have some of the top bull riders from the Southeast, and we’ve got some outstanding bulls. It’s at The Forum, and there’s not a bad seat in the house.”

Tickets for the two-day event can be purchased at The Forum or online at forumevents.org. VIP seating is $23, and general admission is $18. Tickets sold at advance tickets locations are $20 for VIP and $15 for general admission.

Children ages 5-and-younger get in free in the general admission section. Advanced tickets can be purchased at United Community Bank at Mount Berry Square, Summerville and Adairsville, West Express on North Broad Street and Schroeder’s New Deli in Armuchee.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with bull riding beginning at 8 p.m. both days.
