Warrant: Foster mom beat child in her care

A woman is facing felony charges for allegedly beating two children, including a foster child in her care, with a belt, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Maria Delores Gonzalez, 47, of 26 Leisure Drive, Rome, is accused of beating two children with a belt. One had injuries to the ear, neck, arms and back. The other had injuries to the back, arms and hands.

The incidents happened on Dec. 17 and Dec. 19.

The warrants indicated that one of the children was a foster child.

Gonzalez is charged with two counts of felony cruelty to children and two counts of misdemeanor battery.
