The driver of the car that hit a utility pole on Turner McCall Boulevard on Thursday afternoon and caused damage to an apartment building was arrested and officially charged, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the report:

Elizabeth Ann Brooks, 24, of Rome, was charged with failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of drugs.

The Chevy Equinox that Brooks was driving broke the pole across from the Days Inn and continued down an embankment before hitting the rear of a building in the Park Homes apartment complex off of Reservoir Street.
