A Cedartown man was in jail Friday night after he allegedly had fraudulent prescriptions of Lorcet filled by local pharmacies, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Craig Michael Smith, of 775 Denton Road, Cedartown, was charged with felony counts of possession of a schedule III controlled substance and obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation.

Smith picked up prescriptions for the pain reliever at Winslette Pharmacy on Shorter Avenue between July 14, 2012, and Jan. 8 that were called in by another person using two different doctors’ information unlawfully.

He did this more than ten times and then sold the pills for financial gain.

Smith also obtained fictitious prescriptions for Lorcet from Walgreens on Martha Berry Boulevard and Cline Pharmacy in Cave Spring.
