Mr. and Mrs. Paul Maloof of Conyers announce the engagement of their daughter, Alyssa June Maloof of Atlanta, to Peter Biram Whatley of Atlanta. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Whatley of Rome.

Miss Maloof graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs. While at university, she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She is employed as a paralegal at the Law Offices of Betty Nguyen Davis, LLC. She is also a second year law student at Georgia State University.

The Bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bennetta Kiker, the late John Kiker, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Maloof.

Whatley is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, and while attending university, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He is currently a second year graduate student at Mercer University’s Master of Medical Science Physician Assistant Program.

The groom-elect is the brother of Stephen Whatley of Batesville, Miss. He is the grandson of Edna Whatley, the late Newton Whatley, the late William Bumpus and the late Kathleen Cutler.

A wedding ceremony is planned for April 20, 2013 in Rome. Invitations will be sent.
