Two Adairsville Police Department officers were injured Monday night during a roadside investigation of a man who allegedly had meth in his possession, according to a news release.

According to the release:

Officers stopped Jensen Clifford Horvath on Cherry Street after spotting him behind the Adairsville Supermarket.

An officer found a meth pipe in Horvath’s jacket pocket while checking him for weapons.

When an arrest was attempted, Horvath kicked one officer in the knee and injured a hand of the other.

Horvath was then arrested “with the help of a concerned cititzen,” according to the report, and transported to the Bartow County Jail.

Both injured officers have been released from medical attention.

Horvath was charged with two counts of aggravated battery on a police officer, two counts of felony obstruction of law enforcement, criminal attempt to commit aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of a knife during the commission of a felony, reckless conduct, possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth by ingestion and possession of drug-related objects.
