Before joining SAI Digital, Bell worked for local new organizations, mostly recently as Night Editor, Young Romans Editor and Editorial Page Editor for the Rome News-Tribune. During his time at the RN-T, Bell also served as Education Editor and before that, as a Copy Editor and Page Designer. He was awarded the 2011 Beacon Award from the Georgia School Boards Association for his education coverage.

Bell is a 2005 graduate of the University of West Georgia and a 2003 graduate Floyd College. During his time at UWG, he served as Editor-in-Chief and News Editor for the award-winning West Georgian and was the recipient of the 2005 Print Journalism Award of Excellence. At Floyd, he was Editor-in-Chief and Assistant Editor of the award-winning Six Mile Post.
Bell, a Rome resident, is married to Samantha Bishop Bell. They are expecting their first child in late February.
