Auditions will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the DeSoto Theatre.
“The Wizard of Oz” is the classic story of Dorothy Gale who unwittingly visits the magical Land of Oz and learns there is no place like home. Roles will be cast age appropriately, so there are opportunities for every age. Auditions are open to the community and those interested in theater are encouraged to attend regardless of experience or training.
Those auditioning will be taught a song to sing and a dance routine to perform at the audition (if auditioning for singing and dancing roles). Everyone will have an opportunity to read from selected scenes that will be available for perusal during registration.
Saturday auditions will be for the role of Dorothy and adult roles only. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. Sunday auditions will begin at 2 p.m. for children’s roles. Dorothy and adult roles may audition at 4 p.m. Registration on Sunday begins at 1:30 p.m.
Children who wish to audition for this show need only come to auditions on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Attendees should arrive at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday to allow time for registration and pictures. They should bring a completed audition form which is available online at romelittletheatre.com. More detailed information, including character description, is available online.
The show will run March 29 to April 7 with Friday and Saturday evening shows as well as Sunday matinees.
