Todd Swanson recently earned the rank of second lieutenant after graduating from Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala.

He has been selected to be an air battle manager and will be attending training school at Tyndall Air Force Base.

After graduating with honors from Pepperell High School in 2002, Swanson entered the Air Force in May 2003. He was awarded Airman of the Year for the 116th Air Control Wing in 2007, and graduated cum laude from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in December 2010, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in professional aeronautics.

Swanson is the son of Dennis and Tammy Swanson of Summerville, and Becky Kessler of Panama City Beach, Fla. He is the grandson of Chuck and Rae Swanson of Silver Creek. He and his wife, Lauren, are expecting their first child in April and are stationed at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins.
