Report: Traffic stop leads to theft charge

Four men were arrested late Saturday night when they were allegedly found to be in possession of a stolen firearm after being pulled over by officers, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

The car, a 1984 Chevy Monte Carlo, was seen crossing the double yellow line on Callier Springs Road and was stopped near the entrance to Ashton Ridge Apartments and Woodland Street around 10:30 p.m.

The occupants were in possession of a stolen firearm when they were pulled over. The gun came back stolen from the city of Rome through the National Crime Information Center database.

The driver of the car, Theo Corderral Davis, 25, of 400 Woodward St., Rome, was charged with felony theft by taking and misdemeanor failure to maintain lane.

Emilio Daman Ludy Jr., 21, of 530 Ashland Park Blvd.; Cornelius Devon Driver, 21, of 505 Hardy Ave.; and Nicholas Shane Strickland, 25, of 103 Nixon Ave., all of Rome, were each charged with felony theft by taking.

No further information was available in the reports. All four remained in jail Sunday night, Jan. 27, without bond.
