CEDARTOWN - A man was airlifted to an area hospital after he lost control of his vehicle and ran into a Cedartown home Monday evening.

The incident took place at 5:20 p.m., according to police and fire officials. The driver was in the parking lot of Grand's Food Store on South Main Street when his car accelerated, ran through a fence, and into a nearby home.

The home is located next door to Cedartown doctor Ben Anderson's office.

The driver's name was not released Monday and there were no other injuries reported.
