Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is warning city council members about business interests in Los Angeles who want to move the Falcons to the west coast.

Team owner Arthur Blank shared that information with top city and state officials in their discussions about financing a new stadium in downtown Atlanta. Two council members who met with Mayor Kasim Reed told FOX 5's Morse Diggs about private discussions the mayor hosted at City Hall.

Reed called in council members one at a time to tell them that the city needs to take a more aggressive lead in the public financing portion of the proposed open air stadium.

L.A. residents already have chickens. Let them also have falcons.

By the way, I've been to many professional and college sporting events including Falcon games.

If alcohol sales are ever banned and drunks aren't allowed infringe on the safety and fun of others, I might attend events again.

One need only look at the recent events and the parking lots where the worthless trash leave their worthless trash to see why a lot of people could care less if these events ceased.

This is just plain sad.

Let the Falcons leave, huh? This is the mentality that has made Rome, Georgia - a city with history & heritage - into a unappealing ghost town. There is no source of entertain nor support for it. This explains why Romans, who are fortunate enough to be exposed to things outside of Rome via college, travelling, etc., move away from Rome and don't come back.

Outside of that, I am surprised at the comments because I'm sure that most of the people - from ROme - commenting on this report probably have never even been to a Falcons game anyway.

@MmmHmm -- how do you feel about the Falcons leaving Georgia though? Or are you just happy with keeping the Rome Braves local??

The Falcons aren't going anywhere..this all a poker game to see what's the best "Deal"..

Arthur Blank made his money in Atlanta..His partner in Home Depot (Bernie Marcus) gave us the Atlanta Aquarium..Blank doesn't want to be the Art Modell of Cleveland..

BTW-That new stadium will cost you a hefty sum for a PSL license..Check the Charlotte Observer ads to see how hard it is to sell one of those things.

Considering that I'm a diehard Falcons fan, of course I want them to stay in Atlanta. Of course I also love the city of Atlanta (yes, a real city). As far as the Rome Braves are concerned, I've only been to the games when the tickets were free. Unfortunately, we were so bored we've never made it past 4 innings. Unlike Turner Field, there is no entertainment value in State Mutual Stadium (though the beer is much, much cheaper at State Mutual). So, I couldn't give a chicken less (if I had any, LOL) where the Rome Braves go.

Na-Na Na-Na, Na-Na Na-Na, Hey, Hey, Hey. Good-bye.

Not my place to build the whiners a new stadium. I say don't let the door knob hit you.

Mayor Reed is just using scare tactics to get the new stadium built. A new stadium is not needed. And you know this isn't true because Arthur Blank is a businessman and wants to make money, not lose it. Businesses are going out of California, not in, due to the unhealthy tax climate. Mr. Blank would be a fool to move to California. With that said, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if the Falcons did leave for somewhere else.

Let the Falcons go. Taxpayers should not be straddled with the cost of a new stadium.
