According to the release:
A six-week-old infant was taken to the Cartersville Medical Center emergency room on Wednesday with a knot on her head. Further examination showed that the infant also had broken ribs, a fractured skull, a broken left shinbone and a broken left thighbone.
Officers interviewed several suspects before arresting Dustin Michael Lewis, 18, of Cartersville, and charging him with cruelty to children and aggravated battery.
Lewis remained in the Bartow County Jail on Friday night.
The child has been placed in state custody.
The case is still under investigation.
