The unit is returning Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. to the Georgia Army National Guard Armory, Metter, Ga.
ADT II is an elite team of agriculture and security experts specially trained for the mission of revitalizing agriculture in Afghanistan. As part of the Georgia Guard’s Regional Support Group, ADT II mobilized on Feb.20, 2012. ADT II consists of approximately 40 Georgia Guard Soldiers from 31 Georgia communities. These Guard specialists instructed Afghan farmers in sustainable farming practices, water conservation, and food storage methods. In the true spirit of the Citizen Soldier, ADT II combines the tactical skills of the Soldier with the civilian skills in Agriculture to help improve the quality of life for the Afghan people.
