Police arrested two people on methamphetamine charges after finding the drug in a hotel room where a man wanted by police was hiding, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Ronald Lee Smith Jr., 38, of 3113 Old Rockmart Road, was hiding under a bed when deputies went to serve him a war-rant for a possession of methamphetamine charge from Sept. 2012 at a hotel on Martha Berry Boulevard.

In addition to the original methamphetamine charge, Smith faces an additional charge of felony possession of methamphetamine after deputies allegedly found methamphetamine in the room. He is also charged with misdemeanor obstruction and violation of his probation.

Police also arrested Mitchell Drew Locklear,45, of 210-B Hooper Ave., Lindale, after he allegedly lied to police and said Smith was not in the room.

Locklear is charged with misdemeanor obstruction and felony possession of methamphetamine. Locklear also has a hold on him from Chattooga County.
