Mrs. John Henry Goodrich
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Orr Jr. of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Pierce of Smyrna, the late Richard Pierce and the Mr. and Mrs. Charles Orr Sr.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kim Goodrich of Bedford, Va. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Goodrich of Bradenton, Fla., late Mrs. Arlene Goodrich, Gloria Long of Syosset, N.Y., and the late Henry Long.
Pastor Christopher Strevel of Suwanee performed the double ring ceremony. The altar and the foyer were decorated with large trumpet vase arrangements of hydrangea, white gladiolus, green hypericum berries, purple larkspur, yellow and purple button mums, white and red sweetness roses, alstromeria, purple statice, purple and pink wax flowers, ruscus, and curly willow.
Music was provided by pianist Judi Horton of Monroe, La., and Jubilant Strings of Covington. Symphonic compositions included Vivaldi’s “Autumn” and Mouret’s “Rondeau” for the processional; hymns of worship to accompaniment included “Like a River Glorious,” “Crown Him with Many Crowns,” the Doxology, and “Praise to the Lord the Almighty” as the recessional.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore an empire style candlelight chiffon dress with a scoop neckline, accentuated with a taupe sash embellished with lace, crystal beading and pearls. The bridal bouquet included large purple hydrangeas, white roses, and baby’s breath atop a presentation of aspidistra leaves.
Lacey Melton of Noblesville, Ind., was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Howland of Hoschton and Margaret Orr and Marie Whitlock, sisters of the bride, both of Rome.
April Ingram of Cave Spring and Rachel Shipp of Nacogdoches, Texas, completed the bridal party. Their gowns of plum chiffon were enhanced with scoop necklines. The maid of honor and bridesmaids each carried a hand bouquet of white hydrangea, red and white roses, green hypericum berries and Italian ruscus.
Esther Bowman of Cumming attended the guest book and served as a bridal assistant.
Daniel Goodrich, brother of the groom, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Randy Russell, brother-in-law of the groom, of Monroe, Stewart Orr, brother of the bride, of Rome, Dustin Sharp of Rome, Jeff Postow of Washington, D.C., and Brian Moore of New York, N.Y.
